I believe the coolest part of being trans is getting to choose the best characteristics of all genders and incorporating those into who you are.

Interesting perspective. I’m actually not sure if I totally agree. Maybe it’s just semantics, but I’m not sure what they mean by “choose.”  I think to a certain degree we can choose the ways we are socialized according to gender, but are we really picking & choosing gender characteristics?  Or is that just who we are?  I guess I’m taking issue with the suggestion that trans people have gender identities that they have formed through cognitive and conscious processes. I’m really curious as to yr thoughts on this..
